jazz hop fresno
Jazz Hop is the latest thing to hit Fresno, California and even I had a small part in it's success all these miles away! As a special favour to David Hull, I designed the logo used throughout the promotional material on flyers, posters and even sported on T-shirts on live TV - great stuff!
Jazz Hop has grown out of the popular monthly event known in the area of Fresno as Art Hop. Artists open up their studios on a monthly basis to showcase their artistic talent - an idea that David has developed, alongside Jazz Fresno, into a musical extravaganza. A totally free event, musicians from all over California are coming down to the bars and art studios of Fresno to perform to a willing audience - here's a sneak preview of what's on offer.

Opening night is November 3rd becoming a monthly event thereafter.
Whoever said graphic design wasn’t art?
As us graphic designers should stick together I thought I should spread the word of a fantastic find I made the other day. Check out the link below and see a new perspective on a Disney concept brought to life by a graphic design student from Bournemouth University - great stuff!
By combining photo images and a little digital magic (some imagineering that Walt would be proud of) he has produced pieces that not only stay true to the original character within them, but gives them a new dimension and life. Ok people can pick holes about proportion and realism, but where there is art there are critics, and this is art at it's creative and imaginative best.

Fun at Curly Kale
The guys at Curly Kale are in my opinion fantastic fun and thanks to them I have had the opportunity to grow and develop as a designer, expanding and improving my portfolio beyond recognition. Based in Preston they are experts in the field of web and graphic design, as well as the all important skill of SEO I am glad that our paths crossed and continue to cross thanks to my continuing work placement.
As it's been a while since I last touched anything video related I was getting withdrawal symptoms and so thought what better way to help promote this business enterprise than to put my skills to good use to create a video that is full of the personality that is Curly Kale. Have a watch and see what you think....
Disney, you’re looking fabulous!
Somebody knows I'm a Disney lover and passed on this link to me, and I thought I'd share it with you...
What I love about Disney is that it is constantly trying out new ideas and is always at the top of it's game; every detail is carefully considered and very rarely is it off the mark. Check out the posters of Cars 2 for example - I love how it combines the stylish retro feel of past decades (think Monte Carlo) to promote a film created using the most modern technology. I think it's a winning promotional formula, winning enough for me to want to check out the film at least.
Final Cut – what a pro!
Having used Final Cut quite extensively over the past few years (see moving image portfolio) I'm quite excited to see how it has been improved and upgraded. I'm also intrigued by Motion 5, something I really want to get to grips with....

3… 2… 1… Action!
After several weeks of preparation my newly updated website is ready to be aired. As it's a work in progress there are still a few tweaks here and there to be made and a few creases to be ironed out but never the less I am pleased with the results. See what you think...
